soba_pair community. Probably got excited cos the pic is one I used for my own sakumoto icons as well. Must be mad too cos I REALLY should have been settling work matters, and then I saw the prompt and something just kicked in. Comments are love ©.

The reemergence to consciousness is almost reluctant. The lull of reality beckons, but the knowledge that he’d just pulled a straight sixteen-hour schedule gives credence that his desire for an extended respite is more than justified. Yet, a crinkle makes its way onto his forehead as his mind nudges insistently, demanding that he realize there is something amiss. Even with his lids stubbornly refusing to surrender to the growing light, he turns his face deeper into the softness and inhales deeply. The all-too-familiar scent of Jun on the pillow never fails to bring a wistful smile to his face. It is only natural to reach out his arm to wrap around the body himself, and that’s when the emptiness he encounters beside him finally triggers him to slightly more wakefulness. Even though the haze clears up significantly, he only lifts his head marginally off the pillow (probably earning himself a crick in his neck in the process, from the angle which he’s craned his neck) to blurrily appraise the immediate area through one barely open eye.
“Missing me?” comes the soft drawl from the door that has just opened. Jun’s leaning on the door frame on one shoulder, arms crossed over a well-defined torso and staring with a quirk to his lips. He’s observing Sho’s toes that are fidgeting and just peeking out from under the covers – it’s a habit that Jun’s only too familiar with, a nervous childhood tick that Sho’s never quite outgrown.
Letting his eyes fall close even as his head comes back to rest on the white cloud of fluffiness, Sho purposely drags his traitorous appendages under the covers again. He shifts so that he’s lying on his back, one arm still thrown out to the side in open invitation.
“Not anymore,” A teasing smile now adorns his face, even as his eyes remain shut. “Now that you’re here.” He feels and hears the bedsheets whisper and rustle as Jun makes himself comfortable along his right side, the warmth naturally molding itself to him in an all-too-comfortable fit. He snuggles down for his much-deserved rest, content to know that he’s already got what he needs the most.
