[Drabble] Matters of Size
Pairings: Sakumoto
Rating: PG-13
Possible Spoilers: Sakumoto Wii Donkey Kong pair-playing CMs.
Disclaimer: Can’t claim credit for the boys, their fame and what nots, just this insane brain of mine.
Summary: There was King Kong, and then there was the cap-wearing little monkey. Sho wonders how the choices ended up the way they did. Comments are love.

The faked nonchalance accompanying the question is almost believable… if the query hasn’t already been asked in various forms for the hundredth time.
“So how come I had to be the smaller ape?”
“Are you still miffed by that?”
“I’m… NO. Not much.” The words are punctuated with audibly loud swallows, his volume dropping.
Jun throws him a look with an almost mocking finely-arched eyebrow. “Don’t tell me you’re… intimidated?”
“As if…” The already sloppy shoulders droop a little more in defeat. “A little.” It only takes a couple of beats before his tone almost completely matches his crushed posture. “Fine. It’s… unsettling.”
“Why?”
The silence that follows is almost deafening before a decidedly whiney timbre echoes in his next words. “How come YOU always get to come across as the more… competent one?”
“Cos I am?”
“Not helping.”
When Sho offers no further words of woe, Jun knows a different tactic is needed. “Did you really want to be the bigger… ape? “
“A little late now, don’t you think?” The sarcasm might have been more caustic had the whipped-puppy look been less blatantly imprinted on his face.
“You’re beginning to remind me of one right now.”
“Oi!”
“Right, right. Not helping matters.” The soft sigh is accompanied by the younger man pulling firmly on the still drooping shoulders from behind, before curling his arms possessively around the waist of the unsettled man and resting his chin on Sho’s left shoulder. “You’ve got a big heart for all that matters.”
“Yeah, but-“
“That doesn’t mean I do too.”
“Wait- What?” Sho stills in Jun’s hold.
“You’re already so well-loved by so many people,” the words get further muffled as Jun squishes further into Sho’s shoulder. “I don’t really feel the need to share more than I already do, so if I’ve got to show a domineering streak just to mark my territory clearly… well… A guy’s got to do what a guy’s got to do.” The final words are said with a haughty sniff and almost imperceptible tightening of the arms around him.
The breath Sho draws into his lungs could mean a lot of things, but there's just one thing he really want to say. Turning his head slightly to place a soft peck just under Jun's ear, he whispers an "OK" before settling more comfortably into the warmth that cocoons him.
